Pro Bono Attorney Program

Our Pro Bono Attorney Program recruits, trains, and supports volunteer attorneys who provide free guardian ad litem services to children who are under the jurisdiction of the Jackson County Family Court.  To be contacted by one of the supervisors of the program, please complete the form below.

Requirements

  • 16 hours of classroom CASA GAL training
  • 12 hours of annual continued ed training to include 3 hours of GAL training
  • 3 references of support 
  • Missouri Bar License
  • Passing a background check

Responsibilities

  • Develop a relationship with your client
  • Represent your client in and out of the courtroom
  • Visit with your client at least once per month
  • Advocate for timely services, hearings, and permanency
  • Maintain a case file and electronic documentation
